Some unknown armed men have kidnapped a Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Anthony Adikwu in Benue, Northcentral Nigeria.
The Rev. Father is the parish priest of St. Margaret’s Parish, Ajegbe Awume, in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to reports, he was abducted on Thursday night at 10 p.m. when some gunmen stormed Ajegbe Awume, Ohimini Benue State, and took him away.
“The kidnappers went straight to the church premises and kidnapped the Rev. Father in Charge of St. Margaret Parish,” a source said.
The whereabouts of the Catholic priest is yet unknown as no demand for ransom is yet to be made.
When contacted, the Benue State Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.
It would be recalled that this is the third time a priest of the Catholic Church has been kidnapped by gunmen in the area in recent times.
